Kingdom Rush 6 Genesis TD Blitz, Spells Rush, and Stage Challenges
Four extra rules per campaign node. Heroes optional. Towers not optional.
Every Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis TD campaign stage carries four extra challenges on top of Veteran. Lead designer Juan Fernández said so in a Pocket Gamer interview: short, intense Blitz, Spells Rush where heroes are not allowed, and the rest of the five-mode list. Iron and Classic Mode have their own articles because they change the kit. This page is the leftover rule-set: speed, no-heroes, and the per-node modifiers the demo extension added.
Do not run these on a map you have not three-starred on Veteran. Learn the dirt first on the campaign stages page.
The five-mode list, sorted
- Veteran — the campaign. Rebuild freely. Getting Started.
- Iron — kit locked. Own article.
- Classic — original four towers, original-style spells, one hero. Own article.
- Blitz — short, dense, little economy time. This page.
- Spells Rush — no heroes. This page.
The demo extension added extra modes on the first six stages (Linirean Castle through Lozagon Tower). Full-game nodes each get four challenge flavors. Exact names for the other two modifiers will land with the 24 September 2026 build. Until then, play the spirit: less gold, less time, or fewer toys.
Blitz
Blitz is a compressed Veteran. Waves arrive faster. Gold is tighter. You do not have a coffee break between the flyer scout and the armored blob.
How to play it:
- Place the missing job first, not the pretty tower. Flyers on the preview? Archer Garrison before Knights Order.
- Do not wait for a “stable economy.” Blitz never becomes stable. See the tower list.
- Heroes split from wave one. There is no time to walk Gerald across the map. Two-hero system.
- Spells are the economy you do not have. Reinforcements replaces a barracks you cannot afford yet. Rain of Fire replaces a catapult that is still building. Spells.
Blitz fails look like Veteran fails, only sooner. If you leaked because both portraits were in the same bush, the mode did not kill you. You did.
Spells Rush
No heroes. Towers and spells only. This is the mode that makes the spell tier list and the global upgrade board do the work Gerald usually does.
Loadout:
- Reinforcements is now your moving stall. You will press it more than once.
- Rain of Fire is the clump button you cannot cover with a dragon Rover.
- Royal Edict is the boss window. There is no Oni to delete the elite. Oni sits on the bench.
Tower jobs must be complete. A missing mage family is a failed run, because you cannot fake armor-break with a battlemage portrait. Classic players already know this feeling. Spells Rush is Classic’s cousin with a bigger tower roster and no hero at all.
After Devlog #28, heroes and spells behind your highest still earn double XP — but Spells Rush does not field heroes, so that rule only helps your spell trees between attempts.
Iron and Classic, in one paragraph each
Iron freezes the plan you chose. Five tower names, two heroes (except when a modifier says otherwise), three spells. Rebuild identity is cheating. Full write-up: Iron mode.
Classic throws away eleven towers and the second hero. Original four jobs, original-style spells, one champion. Full write-up: Classic Mode.
If you mix those two sentences in a panic, you will bring Culverin to Classic or try to sell an Iron pad into a new family. Both are illegal in spirit.
Per-stage challenge order
A clean launch-week loop:
- Veteran three-star.
- Iron if the geometry is honest.
- Blitz if your hands are warm.
- Spells Rush if your global board is mixed.
- Classic last, as a brag.
The embed on this page is a demo session that shows extra modes and the later UI font pass. Watch for how little gold the player has when the second path opens. That is Blitz energy even when the modifier name is not on screen.
What not to do
- Do not start Blitz on Lozagon Tower as your first Genesis map.
- Do not enter Spells Rush with all stars in one family.
- Do not expect rewards codes to skip a challenge.
- Do not treat the 15 September 2026 designer stream as a new mode list until they say so. UI rework.
Challenges exist so the 18-stage map has a second life. Clear Veteran. Then pick a rule that removes your favorite crutch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis TD questions.
How many challenge modes does each Genesis stage have?
Juan Fernández said each stage has four extra challenges, including Blitz and Spells Rush. Iron and Classic are part of the wider five-mode list.
Can I use heroes in Spells Rush?
No. Spells Rush bans heroes. Towers and spells have to cover stall, anti-air, armor, and clumps.
Is Blitz the same as Iron?
No. Blitz is speed and density. Iron is a locked kit. You can fail both for completely different reasons.
