Kingdom Rush 6 Genesis TD Zefira the Battlemage

Academy teacher with a close-range kit. The Rover who makes two-hero play real.

Zefira

Zefira is the second hero Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis TD teaches you to click. She is a battlemage: trained at the Arcane Academy, unwilling to stay in a tower, happy to stand on the dirt and delete a runner that Gerald Lightseeker cannot reach. In the HUD she is the white-haired portrait beside Gerald. In the garden-stage screenshot she is the reason magic VFX exist on both paths at once.

Play her as a Rover. If you park her on Gerald’s flag, you have wasted the entire two-hero system.

Who she is

Devlog #3 is her introduction. Top Academy mage, respected teacher, kit focused on fighting at closer range than her peers. She joins Gerald’s campaign after his troops help fend off bandit raids on her students. That is the humor and the hook: she could have stayed in a high tower like a Scholar Mage building. She did not.

She is a new face, not a palette swap of Magnus. Treat her as Genesis’s statement that the prequel still has room for characters who were not in the 2011 roster.

How to play her on Veteran

  1. Send Gerald to the door, Zefira to the split, before wave one.
  2. Use her to delete flying stragglers and backline casters the catapult is too slow for.
  3. Do not chase into fog. Rovers die to greed, not to stats.
  4. When Gerald is about to drop, you may rotate onto the door for five seconds. Then leave. You are not a second paladin.
  5. Personal-tree nodes: burst and mobility before vanity. She exists to catch leaks.

On Silveroak and Academy gardens she looks overtuned because those maps are her homework. On a tiny Citadel choke she is “only” A — still bring her, still do not stack.

Pairs

  • Zefira + Gerald — the demo. Correct. See both pages and the hero tier list.
  • Zefira + Malik — Rover + different Anchor. Fine if you want a hammer door.
  • Zefira + flying dragon — two Rovers. Who is the door? Knights Order, hopefully. Risky in Iron mode.
  • Zefira + another mage — you stacked magic. Armor dies, fodder walks.

Modes

Classic Mode loves Zefira because she is a moving Scholar Mage while you are only allowed one mage pad. Iron mode loves her if your locked towers omitted magic. Spells Rush bans her; the spell list has to fake the Rover with Rain and Edict.

Map notes

  • Citadel: short walks. Do not over-micro. Cover the one split that exists.
  • Western Wall: long. She patrols the inner leak, not the scenic battlement.
  • Stormcloud: ice paths skate; she needs to be early, not stylish.
  • Lozagon: Iron videos that work still use a Rover. If you only click Gerald, the Archwizard set-piece will punish the other lane.

What not to believe

  • She is not a tower. Scholar Mage still belongs on a pad; see the tower tier list.
  • She is not the main tank. If she is soaking boss slams, Gerald is in the wrong zip code.
  • She is not optional lore. Dual-hero play is the patch. Zefira is the tutorial for that patch.

Read Getting Started if you still build one-hero habits, then come back and keep her off Gerald’s lawn until 24 September 2026 and after.
